Tom Cooney,
Chief Operating Officer
Mr Cooney is a mining engineer whose 35 years of industry experience includes Australian and International roles in operations and technical management, project development and business development. Prior to joining GBM, he was General Manager – Project Development and Studies for OceanaGold where he oversaw optimisation studies and implementation plans for Haile (USA) and Waihi (New Zealand) mining complexes, and scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility studies for multiple projects including Horseshoe Underground at Haile and Martha Underground at Waihi. He also recruited and managed the corporate technical team to provide support and governance to the OceanaGold operations. Earlier career roles included mine management appointments for Enterprise copper mine at Mount Isa, the Kalgoorlie Superpit and New England Antimony Mines. Mr Cooney holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) Honours degree from the University of Melbourne, a Masters in Mining Management from the University of New South Wales, and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the University of Melbourne. He also holds First Class Mine Managers Certificates of Competency for Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia, and is a Chartered Professional through the AusIMM.
Mark Lindsay,
Chief Geologist
Dr Mark Lindsay brings over 25 years of international gold and copper exploration experience managing multi-faceted exploration programs across a wide range of deposit types. He has a track record of discovery success and resource growth through application of integrated geological analysis and recognition of opportunities for adding ounces to existing resources. He has held senior roles with Oxiana in Laos, Newmont in PNG, Resolute in Queensland and managed a privately funded junior explorer in PNG. Mr Lindsay is a Fellow of the SEG and Member of the AIG.
Stephen Nano,
Senior Advisor, Technical and Business Development
Mr Nano brings over 30 years of industry experience as well as an extensive network from his international career as a successful exploration geologist. He has previously held senior technical and management positions with major precious and base metal companies including Newmont, Newcrest and MIM. Mr Nano’s geological expertise extends to a wide range of gold and base metal mineralisation types spanning the Americas, central Asia and the Asia-Pacific regions. Mr Nano is a Fellow of the AusIMM, Member of the SEG and Member of the AICD.
